Happy Easter everyone! I was home in Michigan this week to celebrate both American Easter and my Mom’s birthday. It was a lovely and restful stay and I much enjoyed spending some quality time with my folks and my siblings:
With me, Spence, and Alexis all out of the house, Mom and Dad are toying with renting out our rooms. Hodge and Podge are an adorable couple and considered renting but they don’t meet the income requirements since they pay for everything with shelled corn. Another possible tenant is Mr. Squirellioni:
The problem is that Mr. Squirellioni appears to think the home is a B&B, not a boarding house:
All told, it was a really nice, restful weekend at home. I drive back to Alexandria Monday and will be making final preparations for the trip all this week. Hit me up if you want to hang out! This is probably the last week I’ll be around until I return in the fall!
It’s really close now, this trip; NOAA is finally reporting the weather for my planned departure dates, and the exact date will depend on when the weather is good enough to get out of town. The tentative launch dates are now the 17th or the 18th, down from the 15th due to some last-minute obligations. It honestly feels unreal. Many, many things are coming together all at once now, ready to combine and explode, until the keys are turned and the pedal hits the floor and I am hauling ass over the Bay Bridge! I can barely wait!
We’re almost there friends,
Hope you all have a good week,
Evan
